If you’ve started looking into excavation, grading, and sitework for your home or business, you probably already know that these functions are considerably more complicated than just moving dirt around. If you want it done right before you start, it’s important to consider the site’s overall contour, its soil content, drainage challenges, building placement and any plans for possible expansion.
The Lehnhoff Landscapers team is experienced in working in all types of environments, and we know Maryland inside and out. We understand the big picture when it comes to proper site preparation. Our continual focus on quality workmanship and timely project completion have earned us a long list of happy customers. And when you work with Lehnhoff Landscapers, you will ALWAYS work with company owner Rob Lehnhoff, who will always go the extra mile to ensure that you are not just satisfied, but that you’re entirely thrilled.
Residential Excavation, Grading, and Sitework from Lehnhoff Landscapers
Sitework is simply part of a construction project that is not part of a house’s physical structure. Grading and excavation are usually included in sitework estimates. At Lehnhoff Landscaping, our basic residential excavation packages include:
- Clearing your lot
- Digging your basement for your foundation
- Installing your sewer system
- Backfilling and compacting for your house and garage
- Grading out your lot
- Repairing for driveway asphalt
We can also easily handle your grading project, no matter how big or small.
Commercial Excavation, Grading, and Sitework from Lehnhoff Landscapers
Preparing a site for a construction project requires the kind of expert foresight Lehnhoff Landscaping’s clients need and appreciate. We generally begin our commercial projects by excavating the area to accommodate any below-grade components, such as a basement or underground heavy duty utilities. In order to save time and money, it is important to keep a balance between the amount of dirt that will need to be removed and the amount of dirt that will be used to fill in areas, this is also known as “cut and fill.” An even cut/fill balance will help keep costs down by avoiding the need to haul away large amounts of dirt.
When grading the site, we use the dirt displaced by excavation to create a uniformly flat or sloped space to work on. Grading should be done carefully to ensure the site has proper drainage, and a sturdy area for concrete and asphalt components, such as parking lots and foundation. Rough grading will take place at the start of the project to make it easier to navigate the site. Once construction is complete, grading will be finalized to fine-tune site drainage and to take landscaping considerations into account.
